What Are Computer Peripherals?

Computer Input Units

In today's life, with the increasing technological developments, computers have become one of the indispensable elements, and they require many different computer products, hardware, and systems to function. Computers are devices that can perform even long and complex calculations at great speed in a short time, making decisions based on logical connections and thus running processes effectively and smoothly. Furthermore, peripherals in computers are directly related to the functioning of computers. Computers also have parts that can input information or output information from them. These are input units and output units. They are also known as computer products and are the names given to the parts that can input information. These include the following; microphone, keyboard, mouse, camera, scanner, joysticks, touchscreens, touchpad, etc. All these parts must function for the healthy and smooth use of computers. The malfunction of any one of them causes different problems and malfunctions in computers.

Computer Output Units

This is the name given to the parts that generally provide data output from computers, and examples include; printer, screen, plotter, speaker, etc., which are computer products. Screens are visual output units that allow users to see the operations they perform. Printers transfer information such as text, images, files, etc., prepared to paper. Plotters are used to transfer engineering drawings to paper. Speakers provide the output of digital sounds in computers.
