Designing Your Smile with Dental Implants

Designing Your Smile with Dental Implants

Stages of Implant Treatment

Due to excessive tea and coffee consumption, smoking and alcohol, insufficient oral hygiene, etc., various problems can be observed in teeth and gums. When teeth are lost, the resulting gaps cause significant problems for individuals. Besides disruptions in daily activities, people also suffer psychologically. With the advancement of technology, implant treatment has begun to be applied to close these tooth gaps. So, how does the treatment process work? The treatment lasts between 3 to 6 months. It is a longer and more challenging process compared to bridge treatment. Before starting the treatment, patients must accept this process. During the preliminary examination at our clinic, we first examine our patients' bone and gum structure. Oral hygiene is very important to us at this point. If oral hygiene is insufficient, we apply treatment to ensure hygiene to prevent adverse situations like infection after treatment. After planning the treatment, the treatment process begins. A treatment is applied by inserting a screw into the bone within the jaw. The patient does not feel pain thanks to local anesthesia. After the stitches heal, it's time to attach the prosthesis. The tooth is fixed to the screw we placed in the jawbone. Then, an abutment is placed to ensure a natural appearance.

Things to Consider After Treatment

After implant treatment at our clinic, the following points must be considered:

- Bite on the gauze pad placed for about half an hour.

- Do not consume solid or liquid food until the numbness in your mouth passes.

- Avoid rinsing and spitting for 24 hours.

- Use the painkillers prescribed by your doctor regularly. If ice application is recommended, do not neglect it.

- Stay away from smoking and alcohol for 24 hours.

- Avoid consuming foods prohibited by your doctor for 7 days.

- After the prosthesis is placed and complete healing is achieved, pay attention to oral and dental hygiene.

- Brush your teeth regularly.

We recommend check-ups every 6 months for our patients after treatment. After two years, the check-ups will be annual. Do not forget that choosing a good doctor and a sterile environment is important to regain your healthy smile.
