What is Genetic Inheritance?
Doctors say that some diseases are hereditary, meaning genetic. Thanks to our chromosomes and DNA, which are passed down from generation to generation, the characteristics of our genes are also formed. Along with our genes, some diseases are also passed down from generation to generation. This is called "genetic inheritance." Genetic inheritance becomes an indispensable part of a person's life, as much as being beautiful or handsome, and in some negative situations.
One of the diseases passed down through genetic inheritance is early-onset coronary heart disease. If it is in the family history and the necessary precautions are not taken, the risk of developing it in one's 30s or 40s increases. Hashimoto's disease, a thyroid disorder, is also among the diseases passed down through genetic inheritance. Diabetes and high blood pressure can also be added to our list of genetic inheritance diseases.
Look at Your Family History
Doctors state that heart and vascular diseases are highly related to genetic inheritance. Those who have coronary heart disease in their families or family history can suffer heart attacks or experience early deaths even before reaching their 50s. In such cases, for individuals with this disease in their family history, the age at which they may need a stent can decrease to their 40s.
Other diseases transmitted through genetic inheritance include breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer. In this regard, doctors advise individuals to pay attention to the genetic inheritance in their families and to take precautions by having regular check-ups against diseases that can be passed down genetically.
